Most of Indian batsmen did pretty well. But the assault was led from front by none other than Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. When Dhoni came India was three down for around 120 runs.
The Indian captain who has learnt a lot from his previous experience started slowly, hitting ones and two initially and later taking charge and hitting some big shots.
Dhoni hit three sixes and nine fours in his magnificent inning of 124 runs off only 107 balls. This is among his best individual innings against Australia in one day international.
Dhoni first built partnership with Gautam Gambhi who scored 76 runs off 80 balls. In fact Gautam Gambhir should be given credit for stabilizing Indian inning when India was three down.
Gambhir has become the nemesis of bowlers of all sorts.
India was able to pile up 354 runs due to the quickfire 62 runs inning by Suresh Raina and Sehvag who scored 40 runs off just 31 balls.
But the man who did it and helped other players to perform on the field was none other than Dhoni.
