The Spanish Primera Division or La Liga had its two biggest clubs in matches on Saturday, October 17, 2009. Real Madrid hosted Vallodolid while FC Barcelona traveled to play Valencia. Here’s a recap of both matches along with video highlights.
Real Madrid beats Vallodolid 4-2
Raul scored two first half goals, in the 14th and 18th minute, to lead Real Madrid past Vallodolid on Saturday in La Liga. Madrid also had goals from Marcelo in the 45th minute and Higuain in the 79th minute. Vallodolid would get within one goal two teams, as Nauzet Aleman scored in the 29th minute and Marquitos scored in the 53rd minute. That’s as close as they would get as Real Madrid moved within one point of Barcelona in the league table.

Barcelona struggled to find the back of the net neither as they’d have to settle for a draw on Saturday at Valencia. They are now 1 point above Real Madrid in the league table but still are undefeated with a 6-0-1 record on the season.
